About

IVOC Canada exists to close the gap between certification and real field competency.

Across the NDT industry, certification confirms baseline qualification, but it does not always confirm whether work can be executed competently under real conditions. IVOC was created to provide an independent, practical layer of verification focused on what actually happens in the field.

Why IVOC exists

Critical inspections influence repair decisions, maintenance planning, continued service, and broader asset integrity outcomes. When competency is assumed instead of verified, the consequences can be significant.

What IVOC is not

IVOC is not intended to replace CGSB or other certification bodies. It is a separate, independent layer of verification focused on demonstrated performance, scope relevance, and real field execution.

What the approach is built around

Independence

IVOC is built around objective third-party review so competency can be assessed outside of internal assumptions or contractor bias.

Field relevance

Verification is grounded in practical execution, setup, scanning, interpretation, technical judgment, and reporting quality under conditions relevant to the work.

Scope relevance

IVOC is intended to verify competency within the actual method, application, and inspection environment involved, not through a generic pass-or-fail approach.

The long-term objective

IVOC Canada is being built with a clear purpose: to create a trusted, independent layer of competency verification the NDT industry can recognize as meaningful, credible, and worth asking for.

The goal is not simply to assess individuals. It is to help raise confidence in the people behind critical inspection results across Canada.
